20’s Choice Awards Nominees Announced, Voting Open

The categories and nominees for this year’s 20’s Choice Awards have finally been revealed, and the event is expected to be glittered with the year’s hottest stars.

The theme of this year’s show is ‘Do [Don’ts] Super 20’s,’ and Mnet announced the nominees on June 7.

This year, a total of 17 awards will be handed out in a variety of categories, including Male/Female Drama Star, Male/Female Movie Star, Trendy Music, Online Music, Variety Star, Global Star and Social Artist, among many others.

The best and the brightest in Korean drama, film and music will grace the stage this year, but fan votes will determine which stars truly shined in the entertainment industry in 2011 and 2012.

Actors Kim Soo Hyun, Song Joong Ki and Lee Seung Gi are the frontrunners in the 20’s Drama Star (Male) category, but Uhm Tae Woong is expected to put up a good fight as well.

Meanwhile, Yoona, Ha Ji Won, Shin Se Kyung, Jung Ryu Won and Han Ji Min will fight it out in the 20’s Drama Star (Female) category.

Some of Korea’s hottest musical acts will also battle it out in the 20’s Trendy Music category, and there’s no telling who among Big Bang, SISTAR, Taetiseo, FT Island and miss A will take home the honor.

The star-studded 20’s Global Star category is expected to be close as well with Kim Hyun Joong, B2ST, Girls’ Generation (SNSD), Super Junior and Jang Keun Suk each in the running to take the title.

The award show has set out to honor a wide range of figures, from actors and singers to athletes and comedians, in the entertainment world, so if you’re in your 20s, be sure to cast your vote here.
