LLANELLI'S Jamie Clarke is the new Welsh Snooker Amateur champion.

Jamie, 19, follows in the footsteps of professionals such as Darren Morgan, Dominic Dale, Jamie Jones and Michael White in clinching the top award

Jamie hammered the experienced Morgan 6-0 in the semi-final at Merthyr Labour Club before going on to see off the challenge of former professional player Lee Walker 8-6 in the final.

He is now set to compete in the World Amateur Championships in India later this year.
