Llanelli's Jamie Clarke crowned amateur snooker champ

|LLANELLI'S Jamie Clarke is the new Welsh Snooker Amateur champion.
Jamie, 19, follows in the footsteps of professionals such as Darren Morgan, Dominic Dale, Jamie Jones and Michael White in clinching the top award
Jamie hammered the experienced Morgan 6-0 in the semi-final at Merthyr Labour Club before going on to see off the challenge of former professional player Lee Walker 8-6 in the final.
He is now set to compete in the World Amateur Championships in India later this year.
It has already proven a successful year for former Coedcae pupil Jamie, who won the Jack Carney tournament in January which qualifies him for the European Championships in Bulgaria in June.
Jamie is grateful to his sponsor Chris Chua of Eden resources, Singapore, for his help and support in financing his tournaments and is also looking for further sponsorship to help him to take part in European tournaments.
