Carter enjoyed a dream first session against Fu
|
Qualifier Ali Carter made short work of eliminating 16th seed Marco Fu as he wrapped up an emphatic 10-4 victory. Carter laid the foundations for the win by winning the first session 7-2, and the score put him in an almost unassailable position.
Fu came out fighting, and took the first frame of the evening session with a 58 break, but Carter calmed any fears by winning the next two for a 9-3 lead.
A 78 brought Fu a little closer, but Carter closed out the game with a 38.
