Maybe The Amazing Batman was taken.

Ben Affleck, who made his debut as The Dark Knight onscreen this March in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, is readying his solo Batman movie, which he will direct, co-write and star in. He's got a villain (Joe Manganiello as baddie Slade Wilson/Deathstroke) and now, he has a title.

And considering how many Batman-related titles have already come to a theater near you (from Batman to Batman Forever to The Dark Knight to The Dark Knight Rises), he didn't have a whole lot of options. So he kept it simple.

“The movie I think is gonna be called The Batman,'” Affleck told the Associated Press while promoting his new film The Accountant (we see a parallel). “At least that’s what we’re going with now. I might change it. I think that’s about it, that’s all I got."

"We’re working on the script, the script is going well, I’m really excited about it," he provided as an update. "I assure you when anything develops you’ll hear about it.”

Speaking in Los Angeles, Ben Affleck reveals that his standalone Batman movie will simply be called "The Batman." (Oct. 3) AP

Too bad calling it "The Batfleck" would be too meta. We'll wait for the SNL parody for that.

A release date for the tentatively titled movie has yet to be announced.
