Manila-Quezon Expressway

Project Description: 
  • The Manila – Quezon Expressway (MQX) Project is for the design, finance, construction, operation and maintenance of a 102.3-kilometer (crossing Laguna de Bay) toll road from Pasig City to Candelaria, Quezon, and in accordance with the Republic Act No. 6987, as amended by Republic Act No. 7718, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations of 2006, as amended in 2012 (BOT Law IRR).

 

          Segment 1 : C5 to Pililla 33 km.

          Segment 2 : Pililla to Pila 29 km.

          Segment 3 : Pila to Candelaria 40.3 km.

Project Objectives: 
  • To maximize the Value of Time (VOT) savings of the motorists using the expressway project
  • To contribute to well-balanced development of the Calabarzon providing new transportation infrastructure

  • To support attracting new economic zones along the proposed route

  • To help alleviate growing congestion of existing SLEX road networks

  • Proposal was submitted by Grand Metro-Manila Gateway Company, Inc. (GMMGCI) on August 24, 2016
  • DPWH wrote an acknowledgement letter to MGGGCI for their submission and requested a complete proposal
