APLMF Mission Statement
The Asia-Pacific Legal Metrology Forum APLMF is a grouping of legal metrology authorities, whose objective is the development of legal metrology and the promotion of free and open trade in the region through the harmonisation and removal of technical or administrative barriers to trade in the field of legal metrology. As one of the regional organisations working in close liaison with the OIML, the APLMF promotes communication and interaction among the legal metrology organisations and seeks harmonisation of legal metrology in the Asia Pacific region. APMP, APLAC and APLMF are recognized by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, APEC as Specialist Regional Bodies. Specialist Regional Bodies assist the APEC Sub-committee on Standards and Conformance to meet the objective of eliminating technical barriers to trade within the region. Training & Events

23rd APLMF and Working Group Meetings
Were held in Tokyo, Japan 23-25 November 2016 at the AIST, Tokyo Waterfront. The meetings were hosted by NMIJ (National Metrology Institute of Japan) and METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry).
The APLMF Secretariat would like to sincerely thank our Hosts, and particularly the team on the ground coordinated by Dr Tsuyoshi Matsumoto for a superbly organised event. The Secretariat are working hard to make all the presentations available on the annual meeting section of our website over the coming days. We are also producing a 3 minute presentation on the highlights of the meetings, and an end of year newsletter which will provide a bit more information about the meeting and activities since our last one in August. We trust all who attended enjoyed the very full programme and have arrived home safely. Members attended from: Australia, Cambodia, Canada, People’s Republic of China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, United States and Vietnam. Video Highlights of the MSA 2015 Conference
The Metrology Society of Australasia (MSA) held its biannual conference in Queenstown in October 2015. The conference theme was ‘Good Measurement – Great Business’ and brought together like-minded business, scientific and technical practitioners for an opportunity to discuss the latest advances, trends and tools for those with an interest in business of metrology.
The conference provided a mix of case studies, presentations and workshops which showcased research, innovation and success in the world of calibration and measurement. This event feedback indicated it was inspiring, thought provoking, highly relevant and practical for all levels of Metrologists.
The audience included businesses that use physical measurements, calibration and testing laboratories, national measurement institutes, and accrediting, compliance and government organisations.
