Description 

  • Perennial plant with wide-spreading rhizomes.          
  • Native to much of Europe and Asia (Middle East, Himalayas, China etc.), and naturalized in parts of northern and western Africa, North and South America, as well as various oceanic islands.
  • For commercial production, long midsummer days, full sun, and significant day/night temperature fluctuations are desirable.
  • Major growing regions are the United States (Pacific Northwest, Midwest) and India.

Description

  • Perennial plant with wide-spreading rhizomes.
  • Sterile hybrid from cross between watermint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata).
  • Indigenous to Europe and the Middle East. Now widespread in cultivation in many regions of the world.
  • For commercial production, long midsummer days, full sun, and significant day/night temperature fluctuations are desirable (typically north of the 40th parallel).[more]

Description    Also referred to as पुदीना (Hindi) or wild mint.
        Perennial plant with wide-spreading rhizomes.  
        Cirumboreal distribution (temperate regions of Europe and western and central Asia, east to the Himalaya and eastern Siberia, and North America).

Description: Perennial plant with wide-spreading rhizomes.
Native to much of Europe, northwest Africa and southwest Asia.
Prefers moist or wet soild, and can grow in water (partially submerged).
Not cultivated on commercial scale.
Along with spearmint, one of the parents of peppermint.

Genetics: 2n=8x=96 (octoploid).

Oil characteristics: High:  (+)-menthofuran.
Medium:  1,8-cineole, beta-caryophyllene.
Low:  gamma-cadinene, viridiflorol, (-)-limonene.
