Starting with the NHL Draft this weekend, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ uniforms will officially become black and “Pittsburgh Gold.”
The Penguins had used “Vegas Gold” as a main uniform color from 2002-03 through 2015-16.
The team has worn alternate jerseys featuring “Pittsburgh Gold” for the past two seasons, including for all homes during the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Those jerseys closely resembled the design that the team wore when winning Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992.
A new road jersey featuring “Pittsburgh Gold” was unveiled today. The new road jersey will be available for purchase later this summer.
