SM Entertainment’s hologram musical (floating style) titled School Oz will open its curtains on January 14 at the SM Town Theatre in SM Town @ Coexartium in Samsung-dong Multi Cultural Space.

The musical School Oz is a fantasy piece set in the magical world of Oz, about the characters going on an adventure in search of a missing Dorothy on the day before the competition to select the ‘Great Knight’ takes place. The hologram musical, about 110 minutes long, is filled with SM artists’ hit songs as well as dynamic characters, including witches and wizards, presenting entertainment for the whole family.

School Oz will feature a number of stars from SM Entertainment, including TVXQ’s Max Changmin playing the mysterious character ‘Oscar,’ SHINee’s Key playing the mood maker ‘David,’ f(x)’s Luna taking on the role of the coy witch ‘Glinda,’ EXO’s Su Ho acting out the innocent boy ‘Hans,’ Xiu Min acting as the loyal ‘Aquila,’ and Red Velvet’s Seul Gi acting as the innocent girl ‘Dorothy.’

Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s Yoona and Super Junior’s Leeteuk will also be making their special appearances, adding amusement to the piece.

SM Town Theater, where the musical will be playing, is Korea’s first ever multi-format theatre that can play hologram content, musicals, concerts and various events. It includes a 40 meter long façade that surrounds the audience 270 degrees as well as a high definition screen made up of 14 high definition projectors, 9.1 channel stereophonic sound system and other cutting-edge technology that will present the artists as if they are standing in front of the audience members’ eyes.

The hologram musicals and concerts that play at the SM Town Theater utilize special visual effects that the existing hologram contents have not used and Giant Step, which has received recognition for its outstanding work in and out of Korea, took charge of the visual effects.

Along with School Oz, the hologram concert Girl Story will also open the curtains on the same day on January 14. The 45 minutes-long hologram concert will feature a short story starring SNSD’s Yoona and SHINee’s Minho as well as SM artists’ performances.

Meanwhile, the tickets for School Oz and Girl Story will begin sales on January 7 at 10 a.m. (KST).
