Brief School History
The school was established in 1962 to accommodate the students in Hatohobei. The school works like a homeschool where there is one teacher responsible for all classes. This is because there are not many students on the island to have all classes. Those who worked in the school before are as follows:
- Fabian Basilio 1962-1968
- Isauro Andrew 1968-1994
- Rosa K. Andrew 1994 – present
Currently there are 3 students in Hatohobei at a cost of $11,957 per year. The Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Hotohobei State government recently installed watertanks to the school and the school kitchen to ensure that there is water for the school in the event there is a drought.
School supplies are sent to Hatohobei whenever there is transportaiton to the island.
