Dave Lougee is president and CEO of TEGNA Inc., one of the most geographically diverse broadcasters in the U.S. He also serves on the company’s Board of Directors.

Prior to becoming CEO, Lougee spent 10 years as president of TEGNA Media. During that time, the company acquired Belo Corp. and London Broadcasting, nearly doubling its Broadcast portfolio.

Prior to joining TEGNA, Lougee served as executive vice president, media operations for Belo. He also served as senior vice president and president and general manager of TV and cable operations in Seattle/Tacoma. Earlier in his career, Lougee was vice president, news at WRC, the NBC owned and operated station in Washington, DC and vice president, news director at TEGNA’s KUSA in Denver.

Lougee serves as chairman of the NBC Affiliates Board and is the immediate past joint chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). He is also on the Board of Directors for BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.), the Broadcasters Foundation of America and is a past chair of the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB) Board of Directors.

Lougee is a graduate of the University of Colorado and attended the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2004.

Dave and his wife, Danni, reside in Northern Virginia with their son, Nash.

Executive Vice President and COO of Media Operations

Lynn Beall is the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Media Operations for TEGNA Inc., one of the most geographically diverse broadcasters in the U.S. TEGNA is a best-in-class operator with 46 television stations (including those serviced by TEGNA) in 38 markets and the largest owner of top 4 affiliates in the top 25 markets, reaching approximately one-third of all television households nationwide.

In her current position, Beall plays a leading role in division operations and corporate content and revenue teams. She also oversees WUSA, TEGNA’s station in Washington, DC.

Over the course of her career, Beall has held a variety of station leadership positions across TEGNA. Prior to her corporate role, she was president and general manager of KSDK in St. Louis, MO from 1998-2014. She was named senior vice president in 2001 and executive vice president in 2006. Prior to joining KSDK, she was director of marketing and programming at KPNX in Phoenix, AZ; national sales manager at WUSA; and worked in news production in her home state of Kansas. During her time in the field, Beall was named as the company’s Manager of the Year twice.

Beall serves on the CBS Television Network Affiliates Association Board. Prior to her move to the Washington, DC area, she was an active member in the St. Louis community. She served as a board member or advisor for organizations like the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the St. Louis affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Urban League and the St. Louis Sports Commission Board.

Beall holds a degree in journalism from the University of Kansas, a certificate in sales management from the TeleRep Taft Broadcasting sales and management training program and a certificate from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in the Executive Program in Strategy and Organization.

She is married to Paul Trelstad and they have three children.

Vice President and Chief Communications Officer

Anne Bentley is vice president and chief communications officer for TEGNA Inc. and is responsible for leading the company’s external and internal communications strategy.

Before joining TEGNA, Bentley was vice president of corporate communications at PBS, the nation’s largest non-commercial media organization with more than 350 member stations. In this position, she served as the lead communications officer with responsibility for the organization’s communication strategy and positioning.

During her tenure at PBS, which began in 2010, Anne was instrumental in enhancing the organization’s visibility in the media landscape. In addition to serving as PBS’ chief spokesperson, she oversaw all aspects of the development and implementation of corporate communications strategy, including corporate positioning and reputation management, media relations, PBS KIDS and General Audience (TV, Web, mobile) publicity, social media, employee, executive and system communications and events.

Prior to joining PBS, Anne worked for more than a decade at AOL and, most recently, served as senior vice president, corporate communications, developing communications strategies and advising senior executives during AOL’s transformation from a subscription-based business to a global Web-services company.

Anne received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Richmond. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and son.

Senior Vice President of Strategy

W. Edmond (Ed) Busby is the senior vice president of strategy for TEGNA. He joined the company in December 2015 and is responsible for driving existing strategic initiatives and identifying new growth opportunities for TEGNA.

Prior to TEGNA, Busby served as both an independent advisor and as a Partner in The Boston Consulting Group’s Media Practice where he served a broad array of media companies and private equity firms investing in the media sector. He also served as the chief commerce officer for Softcard, the carrier-led mobile wallet that was sold to Google in 2015.

Busby is an active angel investor and has funded start-ups in the Hispanic media, fin tech, and local ad services sectors. He has also served as an adjunct professor of mobile marketing at Columbia Business School.

Busby is a graduate of The George Washington University and holds an MBA in Finance and Media from Columbia Business School.

Victoria Harker serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer for TEGNA Inc., formerly Gannett Co., Inc. She was named chief financial officer at Gannett in July of 2012. Victoria is responsible for all of TEGNA’s financial functions and operations.

Before joining Gannett, Harker served as CFO and president of global business services of the AES Corporation, a multinational power company with consolidated 2012 revenues of $17 billion and assets of $45 billion operating in 28 countries. She joined AES in 2006, where she successfully led the re-engineering of the company’s capital structure through $3B in mergers and acquisitions, $1.8B in debt refinancing and $300m in share repurchases, allowing the company to initiate its first-ever dividend in 2011. While at AES, Victoria managed the finance and business services operations worldwide, including information technology, sourcing, risk, and trading operations.

Before joining AES, Victoria was Acting CFO and Treasurer of MCI from November 2002 through January 2006, and served as CFO of MCI Group from 1998 to 2002. Victoria also held several positions at MCI within the consumer and small business divisions in finance, information technology, and operations between 1990 and 1998.

In addition, Victoria serves on the Finance and Compensation Committees of the Board of Directors of Huntington Ingalls Industries, the $7 billion builder of ships and submarines for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. She also serves as Chair of the Audit Committee as well as a member of the Leadership Development and Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors of Xylem, Inc. (formally ITT), a $4 billion global water infrastructure company. She previously served from 2009 through 2014 on the Finance and Audit Committees of the Board of Directors of Darden Restaurants, Inc., the $12 billion parent of the Capital Grille, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Seasons 52, Long Horn, and Bahama Breeze casual dining restaurants, where she was Chairman of the Audit Committee.

In July 2012, Victoria was appointed to the University of Virginia’s Board of Visitors, where she chairs the Finance Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee as well as the Special Committee on Governance, and the Committee on the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. She also previously served as the Chairman of the University of Virginia’s Alumni Association Board of Managers. She is a trustee of the Alumni Association’s $250M Jefferson Trust and participates as an emeritus society member of the Board of WolfTrap Foundation for the Performing Arts.

Victoria received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a concentration in Economics, from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from American University. A two-time ironman triathlete, marathon runner and long distance swimmer, she lives in McLean, Virginia with her husband and three sons.

Todd Mayman is executive vice president, chief legal and administrative officer for TEGNA Inc., formerly known as Gannett Co., Inc. Mayman advises TEGNA’s senior management team and Board of Directors and is responsible for TEGNA’s legal matters. He also serves as a director of the TEGNA Foundation.

Prior to joining Gannett in 1993, Mayman was an associate at the law firm of Arent Fox and served as a law clerk at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

He received a B.A. with Honors from Swarthmore College and a J.D. magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law.

Jeffery Newman

Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Jeff Newman was named senior vice president and chief human resources officer for TEGNA Inc. in April 2017. He joined the company in 2013 as vice president of total rewards and HR services.

Prior to joining TEGNA, Newman worked in the financial services sector for over 15 years. He was the head of the compensation and benefits for the North American Operations of HSBC. At HSBC, he was also responsible for leading human resources functions for Mergers and Acquisition. Newman has held similar leadership positions at GE and CapitalOne.

Newman is a graduate of Towson State University with a degree in Business and a minor in Mathematics. He is an active member of several HR professional associations, including presenting at national conferences and serving on advisory boards.

Jeff and his wife, Laurie, have two children.
