Two-time Crucible champion Mark Williams is out of the World Snooker Championship after a 13-3 quarter final defeat with Ding Junhui.

The Chinese player won four consecutive frames after the mid-session break to lead 6-2.

Williams won one more frame in the evening session, but Junhui proved too strong, winning with a session to spare.

The exit of Williams ended Welsh interest in the tournament.

In the first round Wales' Ryan Day lost 10-3 to John Higgins while Sam Baird beat Michael White 10-7, leaving Williams as Wales' only hope.

Williams beat Graham Dott 10-4 in his first game before a 13-8 last-16 victory over Michael Holt.
