Dushanbe: Today, September 9, Tajikistan celebrates Independence Day.
In 1991, at the session of the Tajik parliament, a resolution was adopted on "State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan". The failure of the State Emergency Committee and rallies of opposition parties helped to proclaim independence.
The country with Independence Day has already been congratulated by US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine joined the congratulations.
Traditionally on this day in Tajikistan, various national events are held, conducted by the government. Also there are military demonstrations. Independence Day in Tajikistan is a public holiday and an official non-working day.
