Choi Si-won cast in KBS comedy

Choi Si-won from boy band Super Junior is making his return to TV as the lead character in KBS’s upcoming crime comedy series “Dear Citizens” (working title).
“Choi will be starring in the series ‘Dear Citizens,’ which will premiere in March,” local news outlet Ilgan Sports reported on Tuesday.
Choi will be playing the role of Yang Jeong-guk, a con man whose family runs a fraudulent business. He gets involved with a loan shark in order to earn money for his marriage, only to get scammed himself.
Choi rose to fame after debuting with Super Junior in 2005, but drew backlash last year after his family’s pet dog was involved in a fatal accident.
In September 2017, a restaurant owner died after being bitten by a bulldog that was not on a leash. The dog’s owner turned out to be Choi and his family.
