Actress Lee Si-young Handles All Action Scenes Herself in Latest Film

Actress Lee Si-young is ready to impress viewers with her latest action-packed film.

In the film "Sister" which is slated for release with the start of the New Year, Lee shot all the action scenes without using stunt doubles or relying on computer-generated imagery and effects.

She nailed the scenes which include car chases, gun fights and other violence involving hammers and high heels.

"How to do the action scenes was my main concern. Director Lim Kyeong-taek suggested jiu-jitsu, so I took lessons for three months in preparation for my role in the film. I trained hard to make it look real," she said at a press event in Seoul on Thursday. "As I once competed as a boxer, he expected me to show off my action skills."

"Viewers will find out that Lee is perfect for the role as soon as they watch the film. Casting was easy because Lee, who is famous for her love for sports, liked the script," Lim said.

The film is about a former bodyguard who searches for her missing sister and takes revenge.

It is scheduled to hit theaters on Jan. 1.
