BTS Set to Appear On 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'

BTS will be hanging out with Stephen Colbert later this month, The Late Show announced yesterday (May 2).

CBS’ late night show will be visited by RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, V, and J-Hope on May 15, the same day that they will kick off ABC’s Good Morning America’s annual Summer Concert Series in the morning.

“Stephen Colbert has a SUPER(group)-sized announcement!,” the show’s main account tweeted last night, accompanied by a video of Colbert making the announcement. “The biggest boyband in the world BTS is headed to the Ed Sullivan Theater on Wednesday, May 15th!”

The announcement clip featured Colbert teasing something “very special” and having a comedic  back-and-forth with Jon Batiste, the leader of the show's house band Stay Human, about how only “one band a long time ago” whose name they can’t remember but “began with a ‘B’” also previously appeared at the Ed Sullivan Theater.

The Beatles famously made their first-ever televised appearances in the U.S. on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, where they appeared three weeks in a row to perform at the same theater, which was then known as the Maxine Elliott Theatre.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs on CBS at 11:35 p.m. EST every weeknight.
