Bolivia: Electoral Tribunal Confirms Election for May 3rd

Oscar Hassenteufel, a member of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, said to Bolivian local media that the general elections are scheduled for May 3. He also maintained that the call will be made public on Monday, January 6.

Oscar Hassenteufel, a member of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), said that the general elections will be held on the first Sunday of May, that is, on the 3rd of the fifth month of the year Bolivians will go to the polls to elect a new president.

He added that both the call and the election calendar will be published next Monday.

The call for new elections comes after the coup d’etat that forced the resignation of President Evo Morales and the instauration of a de facto government headed by Jeanine Anez.
