WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Metro is reopening the East Falls Church and Arlington Cemetery stations Sunday, Aug. 23 during the pandemic. These reopenings come amid news that a project to reconstruct outdoor platforms at four Orange Line stations West of Ballston is moving ahead of schedule.
The East Falls Church station is also going to feature a new secure Bike and Ride facility that gives riders free bicycle parking once it reopens.

The Arlington Cemetery station has been closed since mid-March during the pandemic and the Vienna and Dunn Loring stations are the only two Metro stations that will remain closed for a few more weeks.
Vienna and Dunn Loring are scheduled to open Sept. 8 marking the first time every Metro station has opened since the stations closed March 19 due to COVID-19.

West Falls Church and five Silver Line stations in Virginia have also reopened ahead of schedule and according to WMATA, rail service has to return to levels before the pandemic and Metrobus service is expected to increase starting Sunday.
