Simon & Schuster Australia Takes Over Distribution of Viz Manga in AU/NZ

Following on from Madman Entertainment's announcement of ceasing to distribute manga, Simon & Schuster Australia will be handling Australian and New Zealand Viz Manga distribution from May 2016;

The announcement states that Simon & Schuster Australia will be the exclusive sales and distribution partner of Viz Media in Australia and New Zealand. Simon & Schuster Australia will be providing retail and wholesale distribution services for Viz Media's range of manga titles and imprints including Shonen Jump, Shonen Jump Advanced, Shojo Beat, Shonen Sunday, Perfect Square, VIZ Signature, Studio Ghibli Library and Haikasoru.

Simon & Schuster has been the exclusive distribution partner in the United States and Canadian markets since 2004, United Kingdom since 2007 and India from 2014.

“I am delighted to join my colleagues in New York, London and New Delhi in bringing Viz Media to our customers in Australia and New Zealand,” said Dan Ruffino, Managing Director of Simon & Schuster Australia. “We know there is a keen market here and look forward to working closely with Viz Media to grow sales and awareness.”

Madman Entertainment sent out an email at the beginning of March to their b2b customers informing them about the cessation of distribution of all books from Madman including Viz Manga, Gestalt and Milk Shadow. Madman's email states that their final releases of Viz Manga will be the books released in April and that any titles in stock may be ordered until the 31st of May 2016. You can see the final manga titles to be distributed by Madman Entertainment on their website.

Madman Entertainment have also launched a "Final Days of Manga" sale at 60% off all prices which you can visit here, the sale runs until 11:59 AEST on April the 30th.
