WAP gives Cardi B second week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart

Cardi B’s ‘WAP’ holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for a second straight week. To date, the controversial track has also spent two weeks at #1 in the US.

After debuting at 36 last week, 24kGoldn’s ‘Mood’ jumps 32 spots to hit #4. It becomes the American rapper’s first Top Ten and highest chart peak, taking over from ‘City Of Angels’ (#25 Apr. ’20).

The Top Ten this week also includes new peaks for Pop Smoke’s ‘Mood Swings’ (#6) and Joel Corry and MNEK’s ‘Head & Heart’ (#7); both moved up two places.

Conan Gray’s ‘Heather’ climbs 29 spots to #18 in its second week in the Top 50. The song overtakes ‘Maniac’ (#24 Apr. ’20) as the American singer-songwriter’s highest Singles Chart peak.

There also new peaks on the chart this week for Tate McRae’s ‘You Broke Me First’ (#21), Pop Smoke’s ‘For The Night’ (#22) and Ava Max’s ‘Kings & Queens’ (#40).

Debuts:

#2: BTS ‘Dynamite’ – K-pop superstars BTS take out a new ARIA Singles Chart peak as they release ‘Dynamite’. The group’s first song fully recorded in English is their second single to chart in 2020 after ‘On’ (#29 Mar. ’20). It becomes their second Top Ten single in Australia, coming a year and a half after ‘Boy With Luv’ (#10 Apr. ’19).

#36: Delta Goodrem ‘Paralyzed’ – Delta Goodrem returns to the Singles Chart Top 50 thanks to ‘Paralyzed’. It’s the multiple-ARIA-winner’s first chart entry since ‘Think About You’ (#19 Apr. ‘18) and is expected to feature on Goodrem’s sixth studio album.

#42: Jubel Feat. NEIMY ‘Dancing In The Moonlight’ – Swedish pop duo Jubel hit the Top 50 with their cover of ‘Dancing In The Moonlight’. Featuring vocals by fellow Swede NEIMY, it was originally a hit in their homeland in 2018, peaking at #9. Two year on, it has so far peaked at #11 in the UK. First made famous by King Harvest in 1972, ‘Dancing In The Moonlight’ was also a hit for British group Toploader; their version peaked at #12 in mid-2001.

#44: Headie One Feat. AJ Tracey & Stormzy ‘Ain’t It Different’ – Headie One makes his ARIA Charts debut with ‘Ain’t It Different’. The single comes from the British rapper’s forthcoming debut album Edna, which will be released in September. Headie One has had two Top Ten singles in the UK: ‘18Hunna’ and his collaboration with Drake ‘Only You Freestyle’.

#49: Jason Derulo ‘Take You Dancing’ – After hold the #1 spot for six weeks with ‘Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)’, Jason Derulo takes out a second chart entry for 2020 with ‘Take You Dancing’. The song becomes the American R&B star’s 25th Top 50 entry.
