Grab your notebooks and slip that parka on... trains are hurtling through Walford.
From Thursday, 4th February the show will feature trains all thanks to computer-generated technology (CGI)... how ruddy exciting. Check it out!
Warning: You may feel inclined to watch this more than once. I played it seven times. Okay, nine.

The shadow of the first train on the Queen Vic - the shadow should go UP the wall TOWARD the train, as the train is moving TOWARD the Queen Vic. Just like the shadow of your finger gets closer and finally touches your finger if you move it toward a wall.
The GCI shadow goes DOWN and AWAY from the train - the only way this could happen was if the Queen Vic was a transparent screen!
New conspiracy theory! Queen Vic pub just a transparent screen!!!

But, correct me if my memory cheats, I'm sure this isn't the first time they've tried something like this. When I was a regular viewer in the early to mid 1990s I can clearly remember (and see in my mind's eye) a shot similar to the first clip here with the Queen Vic and a train passing over the bridge. It did look quite fake though, so I suppose that's why they didn't continue doing it.

In reality Walford East, like many other London tube stations would be quite busy so it's nice that they've decided to show the trains more often instead of just the sound effect.

How come it took the BBC 25 years to realize that EastEnders is much better without the tedious, irritating cockneys in it?
P.S. Nice trains!

Great idea though! Although I would never watch Eastenders though because it is a soap! :P

Shadows of the overhead train with the light behind should converge with the train just before they disappear not run parallel with it.
