Joe Swail beaten by Zak Surety in China Open

Joe Swail suffered a 5-4 defeat by England's Zak Surety in the first round of the China Open on Tuesday.

The Belfast player, currently 68th in the world rankings, moved into a 2-0 lead before Surety hit back to level.

Swail compiled a break of 57 as he won the next two frames in Beijing, but he was denied victory with Surety winning the final three frames.

Fellow Northern Ireland player Gerard Greene also made a first-round exit after losing 5-2 to Barry Hawkins.
