Mark Allen was knocked out of the UK Championship after a 6-3 defeat by Marco Fu in the first round in York.

The Antrim player won on the black to level at 1-1 but Hong Kong's Fu responded with a 131 clearance before surging into a 5-1 lead.

Allen fought back to win the next two frames before Fu sealed victory.

The match came hours after World Snooker said it was investigating Allen's renewed allegation of cheating against Fu.

The Northern Irishman faces a three-month ban after standing by comments he made about Fu, who denies the claim.

After losing at this year's World Championship, Allen accused Chinese players and Fu of cheating and was handed a three-month suspended ban.

On the day his ban expired, he told BBC Sport: "I don't regret the comments I made but the way I have made them."
