World Grand Prix: Ryan Day has 'no complaints' after Stuart Bingham loss

Ryan Day said he had "no complaints" after going out of the World Grand Prix in Llandudno with a 4-2 loss to Stuart Bingham in Friday's quarter-final.

Welshman Day led twice but Bingham won three frames in a row to secure a place in the last four of the tournament for a second successive year.

The world champion came back from 56-0 down to win the sixth frame with a break of 64, and will face Joe Perry.

"I just did not play as well as I had done in the previous match," Day said.

"I have got no complaints - it just came down to missed pots really."

Day was disappointed that he could not recapture the form he showed in his win against four-time world champion John Higgins in the last 16.

He was the only one of four Welshmen in the event - contested by 32 of the world's leading players - to reach the quarter-finals.

The 35-year-old from Pontycymer near Bridgend appreciated the backing he had from a large section of the audience at Venue Cymru.

"I enjoyed it," he added. "There was a lot of Welsh support for me and I'm obviously disappointed not to have got the win for them."

Bingham faces Perry in the first semi-final at 13:00 GMT on Saturday, while Shaun Murphy will face Ding Junhui in the second semi-final at 19:00 GMT.

The first to six frames will go through to Sunday's final.
