Taemin Hits New Peak on Heatseekers Albums Chart With ‘Want’ EP

SHINee member and solo singer TAEMIN hits a new Billboard chart peak with his 'Want: Mini Album II' release, and also returns to the World Albums and World Digital Songs chart.

If a successful return to charts is what Taemin wants, then that’s what Taemin got.

The solo singer and SHINee member sees his fifth solo effort Want: Mini Album II hit various Billboard charts this week, including No. 4 on World Albums (to mark his fifth entry to date on the tally) and No. 5 on Heatseekers Albums (a new peak for the star on the chart that sees fewer K-pop acts entering). Want sold more than 1,000 copies in the week ending Feb. 14, according to Nielsen Music. This marks Taemin’s second-best sales week ever in America, following the first-week sales of his full-length LP Press It that earned a slightly higher total during its first week out in 2016.

Taemin has now earned five entries on World Albums including Press It and his 2014 EP Ace (both of which peaked at No. 2 and represent his best position on the chart), 2017’s Move (with its No. 3 peak), his repackaged album Move-ing released later that year (No. 11 peak) and, now, Want. Taemin has three entires on Heatseekers Albums with Press It (peaking at No. 7) Ace (No. 20), and, now, Want.

The 25-year-old also returns to Billboard‘s World Digital Song Sales chart with his surging, spacey disco title track “Want” debuting at No. 5 this week. As a soloist, Taemin has nine entries on the chart, including five Top 5 hits, with his best position earned by 2016 single “Press Your Number” that hit No. 3 on the chart.
