Digital music platform Spotify announced Friday (April 12) that BTS is the first K-pop group, and Asian artist overall, to surpass 5 billion streams on the platform.

The news coincided with the group’s release of Map of the Soul: Persona. The seven-track EP, fronted by the single “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey, arrives after last year’s Billboard 200 chart-topping duo Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Answer. “Fake Love,” originally released as a single on the former but also included on the latter, was Spotify’s most-streamed K-pop track of 2018, and has been responsible for more than 219 million of BTS’ 5 billion streams.
