Acera, a private science and math school that recently opened its doors in Winchester, is scheduled to host an open house for parents and guardians of prospective students from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Nov. 14. The school will celebrate the opening of its new, permanent home at 5 Lowell Ave. immediately after the open house, from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Founded in 2010, the school focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Children are grouped in classrooms based on ability rather than age. Tuition is $14,500 for the 2013-2014 school year for elementary students and $14,750 for middle school students.
