Heathrow has completed the temporary transfer of passenger flights out of Terminal 4, with several airlines switching to Terminal 2 over the weekend.
The airport began the process of consolidating services into Terminals 2 and 5 last month, and closed Terminal 3 “until further notice” in late April.
On Saturday the airport tweeted that T4 carriers Air France, Air Malta, Alitalia, El Al, Etihad, Kenya Airways, KLM, Korean Air, Kuwait Airways and Malaysia Airlines would move to T2 from May 3, with all passenger operations now suspended at the terminal.
Heathrow also said that rail operations to T4 would be suspended from May 8.
This page on the Heathrow website shows an up to date list of carriers and which terminals they are operating from, although the airport says that “It is very important that those passengers who are using Heathrow for essential travel, keep in touch with their airline to confirm which terminal their flight departs from before travelling to the airport”.
Last month Heathrow moved to a single runway operation, “as a temporary measure to increase resilience and safety for colleagues, passengers and cargo”. The move sees the airport alternating between runways on a weekly basis.
The airport expects passenger traffic during April to be down 97 per cent, adding that demad will “remain weak until governments around the world deem it safe to lift travel restrictions”.
