On April 15, 1975, Melanie "Suzi" Cooley left Nederland High School where she was a senior. She was last seen hitchhiking in Nederland. A road maintenance worker found her body on May 2, 1975 in Coal Creek Canyon. Melanie was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue jean jacket with an embroidered eagle on the back and tan colored boots.
