New Hindu temple serves Frisco's growing Asian Indian population

A new Hindu temple is now open in Frisco to serve the region's growing Asian Indian population.

The $11 million Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple is located behind the Hanuman Cultural Center along Independence Parkway just north of Eldorado Parkway. Crews broke ground on the 34,000-square-foot temple two years ago and celebrated its official opening this past weekend.

The temple is open daily. It offers regular worship services as well as classes on yoga; art; Carnatic music; bhajans; Bhagavad-Gita chanting; Kuchipudi dance; and Sri Vishnu Sahasranama. There are also language classes in Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada and Gujarati.
