After taking core classes during their first semester, Johnson students jump into immersion learning in their second semester, focusing on just one field to prepare for summer internships. The school's Tech MBA begins with a ten-week intensive summer semester in Ithaca, followed by two semesters at the Tech campus in New York City. During the first, Product Studio, a multidisciplinary, cross-functional group of Cornell Tech classmates develops a technology-driven solution to a strategic business need of a real client. In
the second, Startup Studio, develop a new business idea from concept to launch. The school supports fast-track tech startups with its own U.S. Patent and Trademark officer in residence. Second years act as coaches to the first years. Johnson was one of the first business schools to have an Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Students set ground rules for interacting with each other and define expectations on the earliest days of preterm. What Alumni Are Saying
The best part of my MBA experience was having involved, caring, and accessible professors. I also enjoyed being part of a smaller class in a full-time program.
Johnson was the most customizable MBA program that I found, which is absolutely essential if you are pursuing an entrepreneurial career path.
The Johnson experience prepared me incredibly well to start and then lead a startup from ideation to the growth stage. Our company would not be near where it is today without Cornell and the Johnson community.
