“Despacito” is hanging on to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the 14th consecutive week and has become the most streamed track of all time. The Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee hit that has spawned a myriad of spoofs, covers and memes, continues to lead the charts and break records.

“Despacito” has now tied Los del Rio’s 1996 “Macarena” as the longest-running Spanish-language song on Billboard’s Hot 100. The song is also on track to become the longest-leading No. 1 in the 59-year history of the Billboard Hot 100. Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men still hold that title with "One Sweet Day,” which sat at No. 1 for 16 weeks in 1995.

“Despacito” also rules in the Streaming Songs chart for a 14th week, with 49.4 million U.S. streams in the week ending August 10. According to Nielsen Music, “Despacito" continues to dominate the Digital Song Sales chart with 15 weeks at No. 1, with 82,000 downloads sold during the same period.

Last week, the megahit’s official music video became the most watched ever on YouTube, hitting three billion views in just seven months - the fastest rise of any song ever on that platform. “Despacito” is now at over 3.2 billion views - and that’s not counting all the other versions uploaded on YouTube.

Despite the song’s international success, the “Despacito” video didn’t get any nominations, such as video of the year, best collaboration or best editing, for the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, which will air live on August 27. How could that be?

In a statement sent to the Associated Press on Monday, an MTV spokesperson said "the 'Despacito' video was not submitted for consideration,” but acknowledged the song will be a VMA nominee in the Best Song of Summer category.

According to the Associated Press, the hit “Despacito” video has not aired on MTV or MTV2, but is being played on MTV Tres, formerly known as MTV Español.
