Rohit Sharma to return home after daughter's birth, will miss Sydney Test

Rohit Sharma will miss the fourth and the final Test against Australia at Sydney after the India batsman left for Mumbai on the 30 December (Monday) to be with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and newborn baby girl.
BCCI congratulates Rohit on the beginning of a new chapter in his life and added that there will be no replacement player in the Test squad.
Rohit will join the ODI squad on the 8th of January 2019, when the team begins their preparation for the ODI series starting 12th January.

Rohit came back into the Test side after missing the second Test in Perth due to injury and scored a patient 63 not out in the first innings as India hammered Australia by 137 runs to win the Boxing Day Test in Australia for the first time in history.
Rohit revealed his wife Ritika Sajdeh's pregnancy in a promotional video for Hublot with former Australia captain Michael Clarke.
"I cannot wait to be a father; it is going to be a game-changing moment in our lives. I am eagerly awaiting the moment of becoming a father. It will be a moment to change our life," Rohit told Clarke.
The news of Rohit and Ritika's daughter was confirmed by Ritika's cousin sister Seema Khan, who is the wife of actor-producer Sohail Khan, when she posted an Instagram story tagging Ritika, with the caption "Baby girl, masi's again"
Rohit had earlier said that his India teammates would tease him about being a father, because of his irresponsible mannerism and his tendency to forget things.
"When my teammates got to know that I am going to become a father, they were laughing at me. They were like you are going to be a father?
"The reaction came in because of the mannerism and the things I have done in my previous years. They think I am irresponsible, obviously in a funny way. But I am going make sure that everything changes," Rohit said.
