Winners from the 4th Gaon Chart K-POP Awards

On January 28th, the 4th Gaon Chart K-POP Awards took place. The MCs for the night were Super Junior‘s Leeteuk and Girl’s Day‘s Hyeri.

The winners had to release an album between January – December 31, 2014. The first award of the night was the “World Rookie Award,” which went to BTS for Dark & Wild, which sold over 100,000 copies. The second award was the “Hot Trend Award,” which was given to EXID for their popularity with “Up & Down.” Third, Block B also received the “Hot Trend Award” for “Jackpot” and “H.E.R.”

The first performance of the night was “What Am I To You” by BTS, which was followed by their latest hit, “Danger.” EXID was next up with “Up & Down.”

A chart winner for each month of the year was then announced (see below for the results).

Soyou and Junggigo then took the stage to perform a piano version of their mega-hit song, “Some.” Girl’s Day performed their hit track, “Something,” with a special dance break.

The next award was the “Music Distinguished Award,” which went to Universal Music. The “New Media Platform Award” went to Kakao Music. This year’s “Contribution Award” went to the late Shin Hae Chul.

Park Boram then took the stage to perform “Beautiful” and SISTAR followed with their hit Summer track, “I Swear.”

The “Performer Award” went to Jang Hyuk and Kang Tae Woo, while the “Style Award” went to Dance Crew ‘DQ‘, Park Seo Hyun, and Choi Ji Huang.

San E & Raina were next to take the stage, with a performance of their hit song, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The “K-POP World Hallyu Star Award” went to KARA and Im Chang Jung. EXO took home the “Fan Vote Popularity Award.” To finish out the first half of the show, Apink performed their latest hit song, “LUV,” and Block B performed “Nice Day” and “H.E.R.”

To begin Part 2, KARA performed their latest track, “MAMMAMIA.” The “Rookie of the Year Award” went to both WINNER and MAMAMOO. Im Chang Jung then took to the stage to perform “A Glass of Soju.” Next up was the “Hot Performance Award” that went to AOA, while the “Long Running Music Award” went to Soyou & Junggigo.

MAMAMOO performed their hit track, “Piano Man,” and WINNER took the stage to sing “Empty” and “Don’t Flirt.” The “Weibo K-POP Star Award” went to Super Junior. TVXQ was awarded the “1st Quarter Best Selling Record” award and EXO received the “2nd Quarter Best Selling Record” award.

AOA then took to the stage to perform “Miniskirt” and “Like A Cat.” Epik High followed with “Encore” and “Born Hater.” The “Best Lyric Writer Award” went to Min Yeon Jae and the “Composer of the Year Award” went to Kim Do Hoon. The “Producer of the Year Award” went to Starship Entertainment‘s Kim Si Dae.

EXO then took to the stage to perform “Moonlight” and “Overdose” after a dance break. Super Junior received the “3rd Quarter Best Selling Record” award and the “4th Quarter Best Selling Record” award. Super Junior then closed out the show with “This Is Love” and “Mamacita.”
