Portrait of Randal C. Archibold

Randal C. Archibold

I help supervise overall coverage and the vetting and placement of stories on the home page.

I was the Sports Editor and a deputy sports editor for The Times for several years. Before that I held a variety of reporting roles, including Mexico City Bureau Chief, national correspondent in Los Angeles and a general assignment reporter on Metro. I worked for several other newspapers before coming to The Times in 1998, including The Los Angeles Times, The Los Angeles Daily News and The San Diego Tribune. But my first newspaper job was as a teenager delivering The Asbury Park Press in my home state, New Jersey.

All Times journalists are committed to upholding the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook. As a supervising editor, I pay special attention to ensure our articles are accurate, fair and complete.
