Visually stunning and thought-provoking, V For Vendetta's political pronouncements may rile some, but its story and impressive set pieces will nevertheless entertain.

Daniel B Just a perfect film through and through. Every cast member gives 100% with a career-best performance from Natalie Portman. The narrative is compelling, nail-biting and the social commentary hits home hard. As an added bonus this isn't just a good adaptation of the graphic novel but a huge improvement on it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/18/24 Full Review Maxi B Phenomenal!! I never expected it to be so good. Hugo Weaving did a fantastic job in giving a masked character, whose face we never see, Emotions! Acting was good, visuals were good. Maybe even my favourite movie of all time! Definitely a must watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Deconverted M V for Vendetta (2006) A virus that is made by a government and kills people so that power can be taken due to fear & that has a cure that makes people who helped get that cure though rich and has ties to those in power who get more rich and more power from it. Pure fiction could *never* happen for real. 5/5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Gabriel Valentim Muito bom! Recomendo muito assistir esse filme. Conteúdo interessante, muito bem produzido. Rewatching now in 2024, it is just as relevant today, a killer virus, a 2nd civil war and ever present totalitarianism. Brilliant. Namrata Joshi Outlook A bizarre, farcical, political allegory-cum-thriller. Rated: 3/4 Jan 10, 2019 Full Review Zadie Smith Daily Telegraph (UK) In the face of this film something adolescent in me surged to the surface and I mean that as a great compliment: adolescence is a state I hold in high regard. Jan 16, 2018 Full Review Victoria Segal New Statesman By leaping into fantasy and heading for its own version of a happy ending with all guns blazing, however, it blows the competition - not to mention the Houses of Parliament - out of the water. Sep 26, 2017 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand [Alan] Moore wrote the novel as a commentary on Thatcher's England and the film retains the London setting, but it only takes a few key phrases to echo the post-9/11 era and the rhetoric of the current American administration.
