      Season 1 – Marvel - Jessica Jones

      2015 Drama Action Sci-Fi List
94% 81 Reviews Tomatometer 87% 500+ Ratings Audience Score A chronicle of the life of one of the darker Marvel characters, the mysterious Jessica Jones. When a tragedy puts an end to her short-lived career as a superhero, Jessica settles in New York City and opens her own detective agency, called Alias Investigations, which seems to be called into cases involving people who have special abilities. Suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome, Jessica wants to do good, but her primary interest isn't in saving the world, it's saving her apartment and getting through each day. Based on a graphic novel intended for adults, this is not a superhero story for the kids. Read More Read Less Watch on Fandango at Home Premiered Nov 21 Buy Now

Diego R The relationship between Jessica and Trish is awesome. Also is a good introduction for Luke Cage. Kilgrave is a good villain. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Andrew S With a refreshingly evil villain, Jessica Jones season 1 is a great addition to the Defenders Saga with wonderful style, along with a great structure of the overall show. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Fetti Not your typical MCU heroine story, and Jessica Jones makes excellent use of capturing her complex, lovable nature and offering thrills, suspense and a compelling story to match. An underrated highlight of Marvel. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/24 Full Review Vitoria F Brilliant series, with an intriguing plot and very dark style. It's hardly a superhero story, but it's a good noir mystery. I loved the romance between Jessica Jones and Luke Cage (I hope it continues). Hogarth had my interest because of the actress Carrie-Anne Moss, but she was unnecessary in most of the events of the series, having almost no influence on the progress of the story. The plot started at a good pace but, as all the plans always went wrong, the story became very predictable. Furthermore, from the tenth episode onwards it became quite slow, as if the screenwriter had no more content to include and was just stalling until he filled the 13 episodes in the contract. But the ending was good. Krysten Ritter and David Tennant were great in their roles. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/24 Full Review Tyler G Great villain, brutal at times, lacks the cheesiness that can plague Marvel writing, and genuinely affecting at times. Probably my favorite from the Marvel universe so far. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/24 Full Review J Jessica Jones is by far my favorite Marvel production thus far. This show did did a superb job showing what surviving, healing from, and living with the impact of trauma. I definitely want to see more of this Jessica Jones, particularly within the MCU proper. Would love to see THIS Jessica kick but with a big budget. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Heather Hogan Autostraddle It's not a perfect show -- but it's solid, and it's really important. Jun 12, 2018 Full Review Ed Gross Empire Magazine Eschewing the popcorn entertainment approach taken with most of the films (Captain America: The Winter Soldier notwithstanding), this is an up close look at the dark side of superheroics. Rated: 4/5 Nov 6, 2017 Full Review Charlotte Richardson Andrews Sight & Sound One thing is certain: Jessica Jones has proved a game-changer when it comes to super-heroes, anti-heroes and survivor narratives. The rest of the industry will need to up its game accordingly.
