Boris Johnson has reached a financial settlement with his estranged wife as part of their ongoing divorce proceedings, a family court judge in London was told this morning.

The agreement over finances comes two years after the prime minister split from his wife, Marina Wheeler, QC, a prominent lawyer who herself specialises in family law and human rights work.

No figures emerged from the ten-minute hearing before Judge Sarah Gibbons in the central family court in London during which both Mr Johnson and Ms Wheeler were represented by barristers.

Judge Gibbons is the same judge who oversaw the acrimonious divorce in 2018 between Boris Becker, the former tennis star, and his estranged wife.
