Rohit Sharma empathises with cancer-stricken kids

MUMBAI: Mumbai batsman and stand-in captain Rohit Sharma on Wednesday interacted with the children at the Tata Memorial Hospital and said he understood what the kids were going through after he saw his India teammate and friend Yuvraj Singh fight cancer.
"I have seen a cancer patient very closely, my friend Yuvraj Singh. I know what kind of disease it is. If kids are going through cancer, then it is sad. I will keep visiting the kids here," Sharma told reporters.
"I have always had love for kids. Seeing such young kids battling for life is really disheartening to see. I am happy that I came here today," said the 25-year-old cricketer who played the first of his 85 ODIs five years ago but is yet to make his Test debut.
Yuvraj, who fought back after being diagnosed with a rare germ cell cancer last year, has forced his way back into the Indian Test squad in the ongoing series against England after commendable performances in the domestic circuit.
