Dunkin' Donuts announces partnership with the NHL
Dunkin’ Donuts announced a multiyear partnership Monday that makes the chain the official U.S. coffee, donut and breakfast sandwich partner of the NHL.
The deal will give Dunkin’ Donuts prominent branding at many NHL events, including the Winter Classic All-Star Weekend and the upcoming Centennial celebration.
Dunkin’ Donuts also announced Monday a multiyear, multimillion dollar partnership with NBC Sports, the NHL’s U.S. broadcast partner.
“NHL fans, much like Dunkin’ Donuts fans, are some of the most loyal, energetic and passionate fans around. Dunkin’ Donuts’ coffee, donuts and breakfast sandwiches are sure to keep hockey fans running throughout the season,” Tom Manchester, vice president of field marketing at Dunkin’ Brands, said in a statement.
New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh and Boston Bruins center David Backes will serve as national spokespersons and will be featured in upcoming advertisements that will also include U.S. women’s national hockey team captain Meghan Duggan. The ads will begin airing on Jan. 2.
Restaurants in select markets are slated to serve NHL team logo donuts, according to the news release.
Tim Hortons has been the NHL’s coffee, donut and breakfast restaurant in Canada for several years.
