TWO of the world's biggest modelling agencies have gone to war in a Manhattan court over "talent theft". The type of big money talent poaching usually only seen in sport appears to have spilled over in to the fashion world with Next Management lodging a suit claiming that Ford Models has stolen three of its top names.

Polish models Anna Jagodzinska and Anna Cywinska, and Estonian beauty Karmen Pedaru have all lately moved from Next to Ford - the former claims illegally. Jagodzinska, who often appears under the name Anna J has appeared on the cover of US Vogue and on the catwalk for labels including Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.

The action by Next follows an earlier suit by Ford, launched last May, which claims that Next stole six of Ford's top names - including the American model tipped as the "new Cindy Crawford" Kendra Spears, the Guardian reports.
