Kentucky House Speaker Jeff Hoover announced his resignation at a press conference Sunday afternoon. Hoover will remain as House Representative for the 83rd District.The announcement comes a day after Gov. Matt Bevin called for the immediate resignation of lawmakers or state employees who have settled sexual harassment claims.According to Thomas Clay, the lawyer who represented the woman who settled the sexual harassment claims, the case was settled Oct. 25. Clay said the settlement included that it would not impact either of their jobs. The woman is still working.The mediation and resolution were agreed to by all parties involved.Rep. David Osborne will be taking over as House Speaker.
