DETROIT February 1, 2006; The road trip to the Super Bowl in a Pontiac G6 Hardtop Convertible has begun. The cross-country trip, part of Jimmy Kimmel Live's Detroit Super Bowl week broadcasts from Detroit's Gem Theatre, was featured on Tuesday night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" show as cast member Guillermo picked up the first of two contest winners: Bri Medley, a student at Washington State University in Pullman, WA.

Bri was chosen out of 1,400 contestants from across the country. Pontiac, the exclusive automotive sponsor of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," chose to launch the G6 Hardtop Convertible to the show's viewers through a fun and memorable trip that will highlight the car's many features, such as a retractable hardtop, remote starter and XM satellite radio.

"I can't think of a better way to introduce the G6 Hardtop Convertible to the public," said Pontiac Advertising Manager Dino Bernacchi. "The Super Bowl and the idea of a cross-country road trip are both icons of American culture. Put them together with a great show and a popular host, and what you get is an experience that goes way beyond typical product integration. It adds value to the show, and it's presented in a way that's fun to watch. It's a win-win for all involved."

The road trip began on January 27, when Guillermo (a security guard who has become one of the show's cast members) left Los Angeles to begin the journey. In addition to last night's stop in Washington, the road trippers will stop once more on Fri., Feb. 3, to surprise a second lucky contest winner. Kimmel will also check in with the road trippers periodically during the show as they make their way to Detroit.

The two lucky winners will receive tickets to the Super Bowl, and will also attend the taping of Jimmy's Super Bowl Sunday Night Special following the game, which will include a special segment featuring their trip in the G6 Hardtop Convertible

The show will also feature musical performances on the Pontiac Garage stage by artists with Detroit connections. Kid Rock was last night's guest and the first performer on the Pontiac Garage stage in Detroit.

All Pontiac Garage musical performances can be accessed on the Pontiac Garage website (www.pontiac.com/garage) and the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" website (www.jimmykimmellive.net).

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs nightly on ABC at 12:05 a.m. During Super Bowl week, Jimmy Kimmel Live will air at a special time on ABC affiliate-WXYZ-TV in Detroit at 11:35 pm EST.
