CEO @ Exploding Topics

Branded newsletters are my #1 marketing strategy for 2024. The best part? They're still largely untapped. Here's the full scoop 👇 When I first started Exploding Topics, I had NO idea how I was going to monetize. In the meantime, I focused 100% on building the list. Today, our weekly “Exploding Topics Tuesday” newsletter has 104,793 subscribers. With a 51% open rate. Needless to say, this newsletter has been HUGE for our growth. I already knew that newsletters were an untapped marketing channel. But Exploding Topics was my first experience with what I call a “Branded Newsletter”. A Branded Newsletter is a newsletter that’s: 1. Sent at the same day + time each week 2. Uses the same format in each issue 3. Has a unique brand name To give you an idea of what I mean, here are a few examples of Branded Newsletters: -5-Bullet Friday -Morning Brew -The Daily Pitch Compared to traditional newsletters, Branded Newsletters get more signups… and have a higher open rate. In fact, if I ever start another business, I’ll launch a branded newsletter FIRST. And figure out everything else after that. Are you subscribed to any branded newsletters? Let me know in the comments section below. 👍🏻

I am an SEO guy like you, but I also love email as a channel because it can give results faster and can offer higher conversion rate. When it comes to branded emails, I enjoy The Hustle and I've now subscribed to Exploding Topics.

There's untapped potential in branded newsletters. I'm seeing a huge shift in creators, solopreneurs, and businesses adopting them into their marketing strategy. One of the best ways to nurture leads, drive sales, and build a community.

I totally agree about the potential of branded newsletters. I've been interviewing newsletter creators in my newsletter for 10 months. It's clear that putting a consistent effort into building an engaged e-mail list is the foundation of any solid online business. It's growing but very far from saturated.

We couldn't agree more about the power of branded newsletters. They provide a consistent and engaging way to connect with your audience. #BrandedNewsletters #MarketingStrategy

Newsletters delivering consistent value for free are a huge growth hack (and potential business in itself). What were the biggest channels for getting new subscribers to Exploding Topics? (btw always love seeing Exploding Topics in my inbox)
