Instructions to spend a day in Canet de Mar

Wake up early and take the train or the car
Canet de Mar is 55 minutes away by train from Barcelona, and only 40 if you come by car. If you come from Girona, it will take you slightly over an hour.

If you like art and history you could do one of the seven guided routes from the Casa Museu Lluís Domènech i Montaner. You can visit the buildings of this brilliant architect; see a gorgeous neo-gothic Sanctuary and the majestic houses of the americanos or walk around the fishermen old district. You may prefer to go to the beach. In Canet you will find three kilometres of nice coast in pristine conditions of conservation and full of services. Furthermore, we are working to recover the typical coastal vegetation. A delight for old and young.

Food is on the table

After doing the route of the Casa museu or going to the beach, the stomach is always empty. In Canet there are some very good quality restaurants. Do you want to know them? Call the Tourist Office, 93 794 08 98, and they will inform you where to get an excellent meal.

Do you like walking?

It´s for sure you had a nice meal. One of the best ways to make the food go down is by doing one of the three marked routes running through the Pedracastell´s woods, full of pines and Holm oaks. If you reach the top of the Creu Mountain you will see part of the Maresme coast and even Barcelona. Bring some good binoculars!

A moment to relax

After a two or three hours excursion there is nothing better then cooling off in the shade of the pisangs in the Sant Domènec rivulet, walk around in the maritime promenade or visit the old town. But don´t forget that Canet is an excellent place to buy any good quality products.

The night has come, but you can still discover more things. All year long plenty of events go on, such as the Classical Music Festival in the Santa Florentina Castle, the Festa Major activities, the Re-percussió, the Canet Cançó, outdoor cinema…
