Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 119 ratings

This spellbinding biographical portrait of Indira Gandhi excavates both the iron lady and the flesh-and-blood woman. Sagarika Ghose looks for answers to lingering questions: from Indira’s religious politics to Sanjay Gandhi’s strange grip over her. This is the only book you need to read on Indira

I really enjoyed Sagarika’s book on Indira Gandhi - specifically the several leaps of insight and analysis that Sagarika stitches together to tell the story of a powerful leader who was human - strong and vulnerable.

I loved the way this book ended. Exactly how I always imagined Indira Gandhi, my idol, to be. Was tough reading the parts where the author comes down heavily on her and questions her many decisions. All in all it is a fantastic read on a super woman and a super mom Indira Gandhi

4.0 out of 5 stars A full on web series material.

When it comes to biography no one can beat mrs Ghosh . Very good , chapters nicely divide whole life of Indira Gandhi. Language used is very easy to understand. Writing has been phenomenal, you can't stop reading it further. But personal letters by Mrs Ghosh in books could have been avoided. Four stars as one star less for personal letters that were not needed.
