Gowanus’ Oaxacan sensation Claro — which has captured the hearts of critics across NYC — now serves brunch, with dishes like chilaquiles and a shrimptamale with egg and cocktails. Read more
Fantastic and inventive Oaxacan food. Everything was great, including the short rib mole, tuna tostada, beef tonguetacos, and scallop aguachille. Eat in the backyard. Cocktails were great, too.
New kid on the block, good cocktails (mezcal based) and food. It's not your typical Mexican but worth a try. Ask for an outdoor seat if the weather is nice!
The tortillas here are so damn good. Asparagus-avocado tostada (seasonal), barbacoa tacos, mushroommemela, and the short rib mole negro (with an order of tortillas to go with!) are all exceptional.
Really cozy and new mexican place in the neighborhood! The shrimp ceviche was amazing!!!!great mezcal cocktail suggestion and outdoors! Skip the chorizo plate.
The yellowtailcevicheappetizer is phenomenal. At $42 the barbacoa is not a great value — you're better off getting a few extra items from the menu. Good cocktails as well.
Dishes like mole amarillo feature chicken layered with green beans and potatoes in an orange-yellow sauce, perfect for sopping up with blandas made from Mexican corn that is nixtamalized. Read more
Delicious authentic Mexican by way of Oaxaca. The yellowfin tostada is fantastic. Drinks are very boozy/medicinal. Would actually pass on the mole, our least favorite
We had the prix fixedinner and it was delicious! I will say, though, that I've had more complex mole at my local taco spot. (It's a fantastic taco spot.)
paid my monthly salary for five ~small plates~ and waited for a show-stopper to come out the kitchen and change my life... turns out all of their food is pretty mediocre. oops!
