About us
Broadcasting from the campus of Delaware State University and in collaboration with the University of Delaware, Delaware Public Media, Delaware's NPR News station provides listeners with the highest quality news coverage from the best national and international sources including NPR, Marketplace and the BBC, in complement to Delaware Public Media's own locally produced content. Delaware Public Media can be heard on 91.1 WDDE in Dover, 91.7 WMPH in Wilmington and on our website delawarepublic.org. Delaware Public Media's newsroom produces original, Delaware-focused reportage throughout the day, every day, as well as original programs that examine issues, news, people, and places through a distinctly Delaware lens. While Delaware Public Media's open-air coverage area focuses on the media-underserved state capital in Dover and in Wilmington, Delaware Public Media serves the entire Delaware community through digital broadcasts and strong online, mobile and social media platforms. Through a dynamic exchange of ideas, Delaware Public Media brings a sense of place to Delawareans, and a sense of Delaware to the nation, while informing, educating, and engaging listeners.

If you’ve applied for a job lately, you probably have been asked to check a box about whether you have a criminal record or a felony. For many, that’s not a problem, but for thousands of ex-felons in Delaware, it is. To help with workforce reentry, the nonprofit Delaware Center for Horticulture's ‘Branches to Chances’ program introduces the formerly incarcerated, homeless, or unemployed to horticulture while working towards job placement and building work-life skills. This week on #TheGreen podcast, Delaware Public Media’s Kyle McKinnon is joined by Branches to Chances Coordinators Robert Harris and Bonnie Swan to learn more about the Center’s reentry program and this year’s graduation class. Governor Bethany Hall-Long in September, and then National Wildlife CEO and former DNREC Secretary Collin O'Mara in March.
