Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is
no longer in effect.

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 224.

* Winds...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 12 percent.

* Impacts...Conditions will be favorable for rapid rates of fire
growth and spread.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of

UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY
EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, AND AN
UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE...

.Southwest winds will increase Wednesday ahead of a disturbance
over the Great Basin. 20 foot winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of
35 to 40 mph, relative humidity falling to or below 10 percent
for a few hours, high Haines and dry fine fuels will result in
critical fire weather conditions late Wednesday morning through
early evening. Critical fire weather conditions wane after sunset
as winds taper off and relative humidity rises.

* AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Plains (Zone 104), Northeast
  Highlands (Zone 123), Central Highlands (Zone 125), and East
  Central Plains (Zone 126) late Wednesday morning through
  Wednesday evening.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with peak
  gusts of 35 to 40 mph Wednesday afternoon.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Falling to 6 to 10 percent Wednesday
  afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
