Taking place from 6th-12th May is Sun Awareness Week ☀️ While sunlight is great for Vitamin D benefits, we should still be mindful on the long-term effects to our eyes! As well as treating eye care conditions, we know it's also important for eye care professionals to keep their patients educated. Want to share valuable insights with your patients and followers? Use this guide from the National Eye Institute (NEI) to circulate some helpful facts about 'Protecting your eyes from the sun's UV light' ➡️ https://buff.ly/3HNceYn. #SunAwarenessWeek #ProtectYourEyes #EyeHealth

The latest Vision Care for Homeless People Volunteer Recognition Award has been announced! Congratulations to Claire Wier who has been named as winner of this award due to her exceptional commitment, time generosity, and dedication to VCHP's Birmingham clinics. As proud sponsors of this award, IbisVision celebrates the dedicated volunteers, like Clare, who make a significant difference in the lives of people throughout the UK. #CommunitySupport #VisionCare #Volunteers
Today is #VolunteerRecognitionDay so a perfect time to announce which of our amazing team of volunteers has been awarded the VCHP Volunteer Recognition Award this quarter .. (drum roll 🥁 ) Congratulations to Claire Wier! 👏 👏 Claire has been our clinic manager for VCHP Birmingham since November 2021. She’s a DO too and volunteers at the clinic every Monday. Her team members who nominated her said: ‘Honestly the Birmingham clinic wouldn't be there without her. She is our main assistant. If you're unsure about something, Claire will know what to do. She knows most of the patients and she genuinely cares and wants to help.’ ‘Claire turns up every week to keep the clinics going. Without her it wouldn’t be possible to run the Birmingham clinics.’ Claire was delighted to receive the award and told us: ‘I love volunteering as I can see the difference it makes every week - to be able to help people at such a challenging time’ The VCHP Volunteer Recognition Award was introduced to celebrate the amazing contributions our volunteers make and is this year sponsored by IBISVISION. Each quarter our volunteers are invited to nominate team members who they think deserve a special recognition for their contributions.
